Publicity Director or Manager: autonomous role with flexible working arrangements

Pantera Press is seeking an experienced and accomplished person to lead, develop and execute its communications and publicity strategy. A passionate self-starter would be the right fit for this autonomous role working across Pantera Press, Lost the Plot imprint, and the Pantera Press Foundation. The successful applicant will be working on up to 25 titles per year with a focus on increasing and supporting sales for authors and books, as well as building corporate brand awareness.

Pantera Press is a social purpose business investing in the next generation of both readers and writers by nurturing talented Australian voices, publishing books that matter and using its revenue to fund charities and not-for-profits working to close the literacy gap. Pantera Press has moved into an exciting new stage of growth with a broader focus on both commercial non-fiction & fiction that sparks imagination, conversation and change.

The successful applicant will report to the Chief Operating Officer and will have a proven track record in comms/publicity, preferably within the book publishing industry or an artsrelated role. The role will involve travel, including some weekend and evening work.

There are potential opportunities for overseas travel and the potential to oversee or implement global PR strategy. The successful applicant will work closely with marketing, publishing and sales. They will bring publicity expertise at the acquisitions level and for the right candidate there will be management opportunities.

Salary and Flexible Working:
A competitive salary and attractive terms will be available for the right candidate. Experience in publishing will be an advantage. This role is intended to be a full-time role with flexible working arrangements.
