Lucy Barrett Joins Pantera Press

Lucy Barrett, current Sales Director of Bloomsbury Australia, will join Pantera Press in the newly created role of Chief Operating Officer. Barrett will commence her role in late July.

“We are incredibly excited to welcome Lucy Barrett to the Pantera Press family,” said Alison Green, CEO of Pantera Press.

“Lucy has a proven track record of growing sales and her new role will be instrumental to our strategic growth plans, both in Australia and internationally. This is a very exciting time for Pantera Press in our aim to have a significant impact on writing culture.”

Pantera Press is experiencing strong growth in 2018. They have also dominated the YA bestseller list this year with Australian author Lynette Noni’s books Graevale and Whisper.

“I’m really looking forward to joining the team and working with authors that I have long admired, including Lynette Noni and Sulari Gentill. Pantera Press have lots of exciting projects in the works that I can’t wait to start on,” Lucy Barrett said.

Pantera Press have a social purpose business model which allows them to invest in new Australian authors and use their funds to support not-for-profits and charities that work to close the literacy gap in Australia. As part of this Good Books Doing Good ThingsTM philosophy, last year Pantera Press announced their new foundational partnership with the Sydney Story Factory, helping SSF’s expansion into Western Sydney.

Pantera Press were shortlisted for the ABIA 2018 Small Publisher of the Year and named a 2017 Nielsen BookScan Heatseeker, one of the top independent publishers showing both significant short-term and long-term growth.
