S.D. Gentill: Mining Mythology

Tue, 23 May 2017 9:30am-4:30pm

Workshop

Where: Science House

Presenters: Sulari Gentill

How do you take age-old myths and make them relevant for today’s YA audience? Join award-winning author S.D. Gentill as she explores the techniques used to transform legends into new works. The prolific writer, whose fantasy adventure series (The Hero Trilogy) draws on Greek mythology, considers a range of myths and takes you through the process of retelling classic tales. What stories lurk on the periphery? How do you connect with modern readers? Gentill maps it all out. On receipt of booking, we will ask you to confirm any special requirements, including access needs. While not all rooms in Science House are fully accessible, we are committed to ensuring that all participants can attend all workshops.
