Pantera Press acquires Tammin Sursok memoir
Pantera Press
Pantera Press is thrilled to announce the acquisition of Tammin Sursok’s memoir. Sursok is an Emmy-nominated, Logie Award-winning actress, producer, director, writer, entrepreneur and platinum-selling recording star, best known as an actor on Home and Away, Pretty Little Liars, Hannah Montana, The Young and the Restless and many more.
The untitled memoir will see Sursok open up about immigrating from South Africa to Australia, growing up in the spotlight, battling eating disorders, mental health challenges, lost love and learning how to love, growing a family, abuses of power, finding self-worth and turning failures into triumphs. Sursok will relate how she endured these struggles to find hard-won peace in her personal life, with a happy marriage and raising two daughters.
Tammin has shared her excitement about penning a memoir. ‘This is honestly a dream come true, as I’ve been writing essays and snippets about my life for almost ten years now,’ she says. ‘It’s very surreal that these insights into my past are now turning into a book. There is a lot I’ve opened up about already, but there’s also so much more to uncover. Thank you to Pantera Press for joining forces with me. Watch this space …’
Publisher Tom Langshaw looks forward to bringing this story to a generation of readers who grew up watching Sursok on screen, whether the many avid fans of Pretty Little Liars or those who first met her as Dani Sutherland on Home and Away, aged just sixteen. ‘At a time when we are revisiting our often brutal treatment of women in the 90s and 00s, especially young women in entertainment, Tammin’s warts-and-all story reveals how this scrutiny played out in her own life, from career highs to some devastating lows. This heartfelt book is an extended love letter not only to Tammin’s younger self but also to her own daughters, calling for a world that is kinder to them than the one she grew up in.’
In recent years, Sursok has continued her screen work while also branching into producing, directing and creating original content on her social media channels, for which she has attracted a large following, alongside becoming a regular feature in Australian media. She has appeared on The Morning Show, The Today Show and The Project and is regularly invited on breakfast radio and Australia’s leading podcasts. Sursok also regularly contributes to outlets such as 9Honey, Mamamia, Daily Mail, Yahoo and Woman’s Day. She also has a dedicated social media following of 3.5 million, with 14 million impressions, for her platforms where she regularly posts skits and behind-the-scenes updates.
Sursok’s memoir will publish in 2025.
